On its 10th anniversary Apple has announced :-
- The iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus
- A premium iPhone X
- A new 4G Apple Watch
- 4K streaming on Apple TV
The iPhone 8 models uses Apple’s traditional home button and fingerprint authentication. iPhone X on the other hand is where Apple plans to remove the home button and a 5.8-inch display that takes up the full front side of the phone, except for a small area at the top with cameras and sensors.The removal of the Home button means no more using your fingerprint to unlock your phone.Instead the X will use an infrared camera and special hardware for facial recognition instead.Apple says the phone will still be able to recognize you if you wear a hat, put on glasses.
The 8 and 8 Plus cost $1,079 and $1,229 respectively.These got A11 Bionic chip, a new camera and wireless charging.
“Ten years later, it is only fitting that we are here in this place, on this day to reveal a product that will set the path for technology for the next decade,” Cook said. Apple CEO Tim Cook has also called it the “the biggest leap forward since the original iPhone”.
In Australia the iPhone X will cost $1579 for the 64GB model and $1829 for the 256GB one.You can order iPhone X from October 27 and Apple says it will be on sale from November 3.
